Here are a few portraits from a recent shoot with two of the SF Giants season standouts : Buster Posey and Andres Torres.  The shoot took place on the field at AT&T Park prior to a 8/13 game with the first place Padres.  The client was USA Today.

A couple photos from a recent shoot with Merrill Lynch fund adviser Roger Carter in his downtown San Francisco offices for Barron’s.  These types tend to be extremely busy and time in front of the lens very short.  Preparation and the ability to know what you want to capture and do it fast are key.

Some recent tearsheets from the Swedish magazine Shape.  No, not the fitness magazine.  This one deals with business trends.  The subject of the piece is David Gottfried, founder and CEO of Regenerative Network, a green building consortium.

I recently photographed UC Santa Cruz graduate student Chelsey Juarez in the Stable Isotope Lab on the campus of UC Santa Cruz for Mark Murrmann at Mother Jones Magazine, a new client.  Chelsey has come up with a way of identifying the remains of immigrants who die crossing the US border from Mexico by their teeth.  Here are a few outtakes.

This is my latest email promotion which I sent out last week to potential and existing clients.

On June 5th I visited Pixar Animation Studios for a shoot with the stars of the new animated film ‘Toy Story 3′ for USA Today.  On hand were Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Michael Keaton and comedian Jeff Garlin.

First, Hanks and Allen: The objective here was to shoot two completely different set-ups in the time allotted.  Which turned out to be 4 minutes from first shot to last.  With Keaton, however, we had a leisurely 6 minutes.  No sweat.  Mission accomplished.  Next!

Jeff Garlin was extremely affable and generous with his time and would have posed for us all day.  Either that or he just didn’t want to leave the big chair.

I recently had a wonderful shoot for Maclean’s magazine with the lovely Lisa Quinn, TV host and author, on the set of her ABC show ‘Home with Lisa Quinn’.  A quick shoot and despite having to prepare for a show taping, Lisa was very generous and brought a great sense of play to the task at hand.  Another one of those fun collaborative shoots.  Thanks Lisa!  You can find out what she’s up to here.

I recently visited the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley on a shoot for Barron’s Magazine where chef Almir da Fonseca was leading a three day ‘Bistro Boot Camp’ cooking class in the Institute’s very well appointed kitchen.  At the end of this particular exercise chef gave a critique of the finished plates.  When he was finished we all sat down for one truly amazing lunch!

Over the course of production of the ‘Mythbusters’ program  I’ve had the great pleasure of working with the cast and crew to produce still photos for promotion and advertising for the Discovery Channel.  Jamie and Adam are a real class act and all involved are super sharp and a blast to work with.  For me it’s a great day at the office.
